Igli Mezini
Born in Tirana, Albania, Igli trained at the National Ballet School of Albania before performing as a soloist with renowned dance companies, including the National Theater of Tirana (Albania), Cannes Jeune Ballet (France), Hessisches Staatsballett (Germany), Ballet Preljocaj (France), Compagnie Linga, and TanzLuzernerTeater (Switzerland).
He has collaborated with esteemed choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Fréderic Flamand, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Davide Bombana, Marcos Morau, Angelin Preljocaj, Alexander Ekman, Jerome Bel, Cayetano Soto, Crystal Pite, Marco Goecke, Marguerite Donlon, Tim Plegge, Wayne McGregor, Hofesh Schechter, Alejandro Cerrudo, Po Cheng Tsai, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Ella Rothschild, Katarzyna Gdaniec, Marco Cantalupo, Mthuthuzeli November, Muhammed Kaltuk, and Tom Weinberger.
Beyond dance, Igli has contributed to filmmaking, notably performing at the Cannes Film Festival’s opening for The Great Gatsby and starring in The Key, a European Commission short film. He was also part of the creative team behind the Audemars Piguet museum inauguration. As a teacher and workshop leader, he shares his expertise across Europe, South America, Asia and Australia, continuing to inspire as a dancer, mentor, and creative collaborator. Based in Switzerland, Igli is currently pursuing a Master’s in Teaching and Coaching Dance Professionals, as well as a Master’s in Entrepreneurial Thinking and Action at Zurich University of the Arts.
